Carefully measure the area that you required to apply putty. Mark the target area with masking tape. It takes 1kg of Magnetic Putty to cover 3.75 Square Foot Area for 3 coats & 50 ml of Activator.

Which is very important that any previous paint is removed. Check and fill any holes or cracks in the surface with a normal decorator’s filler. Once the filler is dry, sand the surface to ensure it is clean, dry and free from grease and dust and then capable of supporting the putty.

Before starting work it is recommended to protect the flooring and surrounding area with suitable lay covering up sheets protective covering Mask off all edges light switches or fittings with masking tapes. Mask of all areas around surface you are painting to avoid getting stains paints during wall ceiling skirting and fixtures protect floors and carpets.

Mixing MagicWall Magnetic Putty is as easy as standard finish coat putty. Add the magnetic putty into a clean container. Shake Magnetic Putty Activator for 1 Minute and add to the container. Add water as required to make a soft creamy paste. Contamination from previous mixes adversely affects the setting time and the strength of the putty. Fresh contamination has more effect than old – so equipment should be washed just before mixing rather than just after. Magnetic Putty is suitable for mixing by hand or Recommended Mechanical whisk of a slow speed, high torque type. While mechanical mixing speeds the process up, there is no need to continue mixing after dispersing lumps and achieving the right consistency – over-mixing wastes time and energy. can affect setting time, lead to deterioration in work ability and create difficulty in achieving a flat finish. You should not mix any other putty with MagicWall magnetic putty.

Its now time to apply the MagicWall Magnetic Putty to the surface of the wall in three applications. Make sure that you mix it well to get a creamy consistency and apply to minium thickness of 2mm. Apply a generous even coat of MagicWall Magnetic Putty to the surface leaving a smooth finish. Leave to firm up and then flatten up the first coat. We recommend 3 coats of MagicWall Magnetic Putty. You can apply extra coats to increase the magnetic performance.

Once your putty has become partially dry use a steel trowel to smooth the surface before it becomes fally dry afterwards allow this coat to dry before applying the second coat. Apply second coat by following the 5th Step.

If the surface is uneven or has imperfections after the second coat has dried, remove all poorly adhering material from the surface with a dry brush or cloth, apply a thin layer of putty which can be lightly skimmed over the surface with a smooth edged trowel to create a highly smooth finish.
